Why are rain forests important?

As we all know that rain forests plays an important role in our life. It is the habitat for more than half of the animals and plants in the earth. Due to there have more than a quarter of modern medicines are made from the plants grow in rain forests, so the rain forests are also called as" the world's largest drugstore". Also it has the name" lung of the earth". Firstly, it can provide home for endangered animals, The endangered animals are disappearing at the rate of 1000 times than the normal levels. But rain forests can give them the environment that they need. Next, rain forests can change carbon dioxide into oxygen. Generally, the rain forests can help people to dispose nearly one hundred billion tons of carbon dioxide, and provide 60% oxygen. In the same time, it has the ability to improve the quality of the air, and reduce the greenhouse effect. Lastly, once the rain forests was destroyed by human, it will causes soil erosion. Leads to the deterioration of the environment, and it is difficult to recover. As a consequence, the protection of the rain forests are imminent, and it already become one of the most critical problems that draw attention all over the world.
